Stereotactic robotic radiosurgery is a noninvasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of cancerous tumors anywhere in the body, including the head, spine, lung, prostate, bone, liver, kidney, pancreas, and perianal region. The treatment uses multiple beams of high-dose radiation therapy to treat tumors with submillimeter accuracy for patients who have inoperable surgically complex tumors, or who are looking for an alternative to surgery. It is noninvasive, painless, and requires no incisions. It allow clinicians to deliver high doses of radiation safely to tumors while avoiding surrounding healthy tissues, thus minimizing side effects as compared to conventional therapy. In addition, CyberKnife radiosurgery requires only 1-3 treatments lasting approximately 30-90 minutes each, greatly reducing overall anesthesia and treatment times as compared to conventional radiation therapy
